Ultra-long forewarning on low-speed drying drum with HD technology
An international chemical company in Finland has monitored the condition of low-speed drying drums since 2012 using HD technology. This case study describes the detection of a bearing damage whose development was monitored over the course of three years.
Thanks to the very early warning, the maintenance department had ample time to plan the bearing replacement such that it could be done during a normal maintenance stop. It also enabled them to design and manufacture a bespoke lifting device which was used to facilitate safe and quick maintenance work.
